That was summer

Room 7 had fun writing about our holidays this week. We used a poem by Marci Ridlon called summer as motivation. We brainstormed all of the different things that we did then used our senses to describe the experience.

Here are a few of our finished poems...

Remember when me and mum went to the beach.
I could feel the soft sand on my warm feet.
That was summer!
Remember the day when me and my friends
had a humongous water fight at Nan's house.
I could feel the cold water running down my face.
That was summer!

Remember the day at the cold beach when
mum splashed the water in my face.
That was summer!
Remember when I was jumping on the trampoline.
I jumped so high that I almost touched the top of my large, tall house.
That was summer!
Remember the day when my mum and me ate fish and chips.
I could taste the salty chips in my mouth.
That was summer!

Remember when I was at the top of the fearfall.
I could see for miles and miles and all the mountains.
That was summer!
Remember when I went fishing and I could smell the dead fish.
Remember when I went bowling with Laz
and I knocked down all the pins.
That was summer!

  1. This is a great idea - very beneficial for working parents. We can view some of our childrens writing/activities/pictures. I really enjoyed reading Room 7's summer poems. Looking forward to future blogging from Room 7. Thank you students and staff of BMP.
