Exploring Tuesday

Tuesday is quickly becoming Room 24's favourite day of the week. Today was exploring Tuesday. We had lots of fun and lots of co-operation.  Some of the words we discussed during our sharing time were…

Collaborative - Today Kalahata, Charlie, Levi and Caleb worked collaboratively together to create a race track with an old cardboard box. It was a very flash race track with  grass, trees and houses lining the sides of the track. Later the track become a dinosaur park and so another track was created on the concrete. If you look carefully you might see where Caleb wrote "I love the race track".

Respect - Today Kalahata, Joseph and Caleb showed Room 24 all about respect and what participating and contributing is all about. Joseph came over to play with the race course that the boys had created. They all played nicely for a while and then Caleb suggested that they played dinosaurs because that is Joseph's favourite animal. The race track was quickly flipped over and suddenly a dinosaur park was created.

Threading - Today we introduced Room 24 to sewing. The children learnt to thread their needles. Mrs Taylor (our student teacher) worked with a group of children to sew patterns and shapes into material. Mrs Taylor mentioned how focused all the children were but particularly Leeroy who produced a very cool pattern. Well done Leeroy!

Here are some of our other exploring adventures today.

Quanitah and Hayleigh practised making
sweet music with the recorders.

Dayton and Levi continued with their creations from last week. They turned into Dead pool (Levi) and a Mindcraft basketball guy (Dayton). The results looked very cool!

The sandpit was popular with some of the girls today. Quanitah was building a city (town planner in the making) while Alyssia and Olivia were baking some yummy chocolate muffins for me. Thanks girls!

Some of the other girls were navigating a volcano lava field. They had to traverse across the playground ensuring 'no girl was left behind'.

The new chalk was a hit today. We had rainbows, race tracks,
dinosaurs and two huge games of hopscotch. The girls had a big discussion about Mary Poppins and the chalk pictures. We tried to imagine a way we could make ours come to life too.

Fayth, Shanayah and Mele all really enjoyed our water play today.

A few more sewing ones. We loved the look on Sarah's face!
